The situation is not very good in terms of funding in the water sector and despite the enormous efforts of the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works and the Ministry of Environment and Water, there is still a large shortage.

So we need to be innovative in the search for a resource. It takes about 10-12 billion leva at the national level to be fully compliant with all relevant directives and to possess one efficient Plumbing systems.

In his words, the resource that operators themselves can provide is quite limited.

The grants in the period 2014-2020 are 2.5-3 billion leva. As much as the state budget adds, we have a serious hole that is 50-70% and we need to be quite innovative in our ways of financing.

What makes such a big investment? What approach was selected to resolve this issue?
